김정환 교수는 Virginia Tech의 지리학과에서 조교수로 재직 중이며, 생성형 인공지능(Generative AI)이 도시계획과 스마트시티 관리에 어떻게 활용될 수 있는지를 연구하는 Smart Cities for Good의 Director를 맡고 있습니다. 김정환 교수는 특히 개개인의 모빌리티, 환경과 건강, 지리공간적 데이터 기법 등에 관심을 가지고 있으며, Annals of the American Association of Geographers, Journal of Transport Geography, Cartography and Geographic Information Science, Environmental Research, Science of the Total Environment, and Travel Behaviour and Society 등 유수의 저널에 논문을 발표하고 있습니다.
