Speaker: Dr. Soowon Chang from Purdue University
Topic: Transition of Energy Infrastructure Systems for Decarbonization

Dr. Soowon Chang is an Assistant Professor and the Director of the Smart and Sustainable Human-Urban-Building (S2-HUB) Interaction Lab in the School of Construction Management Technology at Purdue University. She received her Ph.D. from Georgia Institute of Technology and conducted urban redevelopment research in Tokyo at the National Institute for Environmental Studies in Japan prior to joining Purdue. She received her B.S. in Architectural Engineering, B.A. in Management for Science and Technology, and M.S. in Architectural Engineering with emphasis on construction management from EWHA WOMANS UNIVERSITY in South Korea. Her research focuses on smart and sustainable building design and construction considering urban systems’ networks by modeling and simulation, functional and spatial optimization, cyber-physical interactions in smart cities. She served several international conferences in leadership capacities including technical committee, track chair, and session chair. Dr. Chang is an associate member of American Society of Civil Engineers.
