2014-15년도 하버드-옌칭 프로그램 참가 희망자를 아래와 같이 모집하기에 알려 드립니다.


1. 프로그램 개요
가. Visiting Scholars Program: 인문/사회과학 분야의 교수에게 10개월간 하버드 대학에서
연구할 기회(study & research)를 제공하는 프로그램으로 왕복항공권, 체류기간 동안의
생활비, 연구장려비 등을 지원
나. Visiting Fellows Program: 박사과정생 및 수료생에게 2014-15 학년도간 논문연구의
기회(conduct dissertation research)를 제공하는 프로그램으로 왕복항공권, 체류기간
동안의 프로그램비, 생활비 등을 지원

2. 지원자격 및 선발인원
가. Visiting Scholars Program: 3명
1) 본교에 2년 이상 재직한 교수(full time faculty member)
2) 지난 5년 이내에 영어권 국가의 대학에서 PhD 학위 취득한 자는 지원 불가
나. Visiting Fellows Program: 2명
1) 본교에 재학 중인 박사과정생 및 수료생 (박사학위 소지자는 지원 불가)


3. 인문/사회과학분야 전공:
인류학(Anthropology), 고고학(Archaeology), 역사학(History including art history,
economic history, and legal history), 언어학 (Linguistics), 문학(Literature), 철학
(Philosophy), 정치학(Politics), 종교학(Study of Reiligion), 사회학(Sociology)

--> ※ 위에 명시되지 않은 전공 (Economics, Law 등)의 경우 지원자격이 되는지 여부를 확인.

4. 1차 심사 선발 인원: 총 5명 (Visiting Scholars 3명, Visiting Fellows 2명)
※ 서울대에서는 위 인원을 선발하여 하버드-옌칭 연구소에 추천하며,
하버드-옌칭 연구소에서 2차 심사를 통해 최종 합격자를 결정함


5. 선발 기준
가. Visiting Scholars Program:
- English Proficiency
- Academic training (including PhD degree)
- Quality and originality of the research proposal, demonstrated depth of
the subject knowledge,
- Feasibility of conducting the research at Harvard and/or other major universities
in the United States
나. Visiting Fellows Program
- Academic training
- Quality and originality of the research proposal, depth of the subject knowledge
- Feasibility of conducting the research at Harvard


6. 제출서류 및 지원방법 (두 프로그램 모두 동일)
가. Cover Sheet 1부 및 지원서 1부:
-> 지원자가 제출기한까지 이메일(exch_america@snu.ac.kr)로 제출
나. 영문추천서 3부: 추천자가 직접 제출기한까지 이메일(exch_america@snu.ac.kr) 제출
-> * 추천서는 MS Word파일로 제출할 것
다. Visiting Fellows의 경우, 영어 공인어학성적표 사본 1부
(선택사항, 서울대 내부 심사 시 참고용)


7. 제출기한: 2013.8.20.(화)


8. 선발절차 및 주요 일정
가. 지원마감일: 2013.8.20.(화)
나. 1차 심사(서울대): 2013. 8월말-9월중
다. 1차 심사 합격자 하버드-옌칭 연구소에 추천: 2013.9.30.
라. 2차 심사(하버드-옌칭 연구소): 2013. 10월 &#8211 2014. 2월
마. 최종 합격자 발표: 2014. 2월 말
