Urban Programming Advisor, Asia Pacific
Your opportunity to lead an effort that will transform the lives and futures of thousands of children and
communities in Asia
World Vision is a global network of people committed to enhancing wellbeing of children everywhere
by empowering families and communities to overcome the challenges of poverty and injustice
The role will provide leadership and support to Asia Pacific National Offices in building urban
programming capacity, facilitate knowledge exchange between practitioners, build and strengthen
urban networks with external agencies and organisations, and support the development of national
urban strategies (where applicable).
To fulfil this role you will have
Post graduate qualifications and / or Professional background in Urban Planning, Urban Development,
or other relevant field
Knowledge of urban development and poverty dynamics, issues, and contributing factors
Knowledge of programming resources and tools in urban community development programming
Understanding of fundamental R&D processes leading to project model development
Understanding of strategy implementation and organisational change processes
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in computer & online tools
Demonstrated inter-personal and negotiation skills
Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills, relevant for tasks related to research and strategy
development
Experience working on urban development, planning or urban poverty issues
Experience in an advisory or leadership position
We are looking for a person who can demonstrate an understanding of and identify with the
